1. Start with top quality beans

4. Use just the right amount of coffee grounds

Using filtered water that has stood for a few days, or bottled water rather than tap water will ensure the quality of the coffee is not diminished. Also, keeping the water at a fairly constant temperature of about 200°F (93°C) is correct for gourmet coffee.
6. Keep your coffee stored tight
It is really important to store your coffee in as near vacuum conditions as you can. Unfortunately, air oxidizes your coffee, which means it will soon become bitter. Don’t use metal metal canisters for storage because they can impart a metallic taste to your coffee, yuck! It’s better to use a plastic, glass or ceramic air-tight container for your coffee and coffee beans.
7. Store it at the right temperature
Keep it stored out of sunlight and at room temperature. The fridge or freezer is a no-no because the moisture these contain can make your coffee deteriorate quickly.
Most restaurants are told to keep coffee for serving to customers for less than thirty minutes. You don’t need to do that at home because coffee is at its best when first brewed.
